Saturday, November 7 at Minocqua Farmer’s Market Space, Minocqua
Minocqua Farmer’s Market Space
About this event
A sound bath is a meditative experience where a practitioner surrounds you with waves of sound & vibration using drums & other therapeutic instruments. Ann Clabots from Northwoods Breathe and bloom invites you to settle in, breathe, simply be. Head to the Minocqua Public Library’s Program Room for this hour-long immersive acoustic experience. Space is limited, call 715-356-4437 or stop in the library to register for this free event. – Comfort is of the utmost importance. Please wear comfortable clothing & BYO blanket, pillow, yoga mat, bolster, and eye mask if possible. Some supplies available.
Who's playing
Ann Clabots leads the session under the name Northwoods Breathe and Bloom, and she works as a practitioner rather than a performer. She plays drums and other therapeutic instruments so that the sound surrounds the people lying or sitting in the room. The aim, in her own terms, is to settle in, breathe and simply be.
What to expect
The hour is acoustic and immersive, with no stage and no audience to perform for. Waves of sound and vibration move through the room while you stay mostly still. The suggested supplies, mats, bolsters and eye masks, point to a session spent resting on the floor rather than sitting upright.
Why go
A sound bath is a different kind of hour from a concert or a class, with nothing to learn and nothing to follow. The library's Program Room is a plain, roomy space, so the setting stays calm and familiar. For a quiet hour of rest close to town, it is a simple choice.
