Rhinelander Area Special Olympics/Pizza Ranch Share Night
Monday, November 2 at Rhinelander Pizza Ranch, Minocqua
About this event
Please join us! A portion of your purchase supports the Rhinelander Area Special Olympics program. This money stays local and affects/supports local athletes. Our program is completely non-profit with all local positions unpaid/volunteer. So the money directly to support the athletes and the program.
Who's playing
The local program has more than 30 athletes who train and compete year-round in sports including bocce, track and bowling. Volunteers run the program, and head bowling coach David Daoust is one of those working with the athletes. The group has been looking for storage space for its equipment so it can spend its budget on the athletes.
What to expect
This is a regular meal at Pizza Ranch on Eisenhower Parkway, with a portion of the purchase going to the program. Past fundraising nights at this restaurant have had athletes, coaches and volunteers serving customers and meeting the community. The restaurant is a buffet with pizza, fried chicken, a salad bar and its cactus bread for dessert.
Why go
Restaurant fundraisers like this one keep the money close to home, and the athletes see the benefit directly. For Minocqua readers, Rhinelander is a reasonable drive for a night out that supports a local team. It is an easy way to back the program while eating a meal you would have had anyway.
