Veterans and Thanksgiving Day Community Meal
Sunday, November 8 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Minocqua
About this event
Please join us at noon on November 8th for a special Veterans and Thanksgiving Day meal featuring ham, turkey, and all the fixings. The event will take place at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, located at 5610 S US-51 in Manitowish Waters. There is no charge, and all are welcome to attend as we offer gratitude for God's blessings and honor our veterans. We hope to see you there!
What to expect
The meal is a traditional Thanksgiving spread, with ham and turkey alongside the usual sides. It takes place in the church itself, and the tone is that of a parish gathering. Gratitude for God's blessings and honoring veterans are the reasons behind the meal.
Why go
The meal gives veterans and their neighbors a shared holiday table in a small northwoods town. The Frank B. Koller Memorial Library is behind it, so it reads as a community project rather than a church-only event. For a holiday meal with a clear purpose, it is an easy one to recommend.
