Ukulele Practice & Jam Session

Monday, November 2 in Minocqua

TBA · Eagle River

About this event

Join us to practice your uke technique every Monday from 2 – 3:30pm. Setup starts at 1:30, so feel free to come early! All music lovers are welcome! Bring any instrument, your voice, or just an appreciative ear to our practice and jam session. Questions? Want to know more about the Stray Cat Strummers? Contact Shirley Noonan at newtome7041@gmail.com. Any person needing an accommodation for a disability in order to access Library activities and/or service should contact the Library in person, by phone at 715-479-8070, or by email at director@olsonlibrary.org.

Who's playing

The session runs under the name the Stray Cat Strummers, a local group of ukulele players. Shirley Noonan is the organizer the library lists for questions about the group. The jam is open to anyone who wants to play along, sing or just listen.

What to expect

The format is relaxed: practice time for technique, then open playing with whoever shows up. Bring a ukulele or any other instrument, or bring only your voice. The library building was renovated with stone piers and large windows facing Main Street, so the room is bright and comfortable.

Why go

A regular session gives you a reason to keep playing, and a room full of people doing the same thing helps. Because any instrument and any voice are welcome, it also suits singers and guitar players who want to try the ukulele crowd. It is a low-key way to spend an afternoon making music close to Minocqua.
