Calling all rolling, crawling, and walking little ones and those who care for them come to the library for active free-play in the community room when it’s too cold to “move it” outside
What to expect
The session is free play rather than a lesson, so children move at their own pace around the room. Caregivers come along and play with their little ones, and the focus is on moving, not sitting. The community room is the library's largest meeting space, and it also hosts the library's after-school programs for older children.
Why go
For families with babies and toddlers, a dry, warm room to move in during a Northwoods winter makes a real difference. The library also runs Library Time, a separate play-based program for little ones and their caregivers that focuses on friendships and early literacy.
