About this event
It is tried and true. The StrongBodies program empowers individuals of all ages to live stronger, healthier lives. Through community-based strength training programs, participants improve fitness, build strength, gain confidence, and connect socially, enhancing overall well-being. The StrongBodies Program, is based on the National StrongPeople Program and led by two of Minocqua Public Library’s staff members who have been trained to become UW Madison Extension StrongBodies Ambassadors. Join us in the Community Gym, located across the lobby from the library entrace, for this free exercise class. Bring your own clean shoes, water, and comfortable clothing. Questions? Who's playing
Two members of the library's staff lead StrongBodies, and both were trained to become UW Madison Extension StrongBodies Ambassadors. The program is based on the National StrongPeople Program, so the class follows an established national model rather than one-off workouts. Having library staff run it keeps the class close to the library's other community programs.
What to expect
Each session is a group strength workout in the library's Community Gym, a room just across the lobby from the entrance. Strength is the core of the class, and the program also aims to help people feel more confident and connect with others. The format is as social as it is physical, so it helps to come back regularly and get to know the group.
Why go
The class suits anyone who wants strength work in a group rather than alone. Because it repeats through the season, it is easy to build into a regular week in Minocqua. Its roots in a national program and UW-Madison Extension training give it more structure than a casual drop-in.
