Open Mic Lab @ Inspiration Bar, Warehouse Community Arts Center
Friday, November 6 at The Warehouse Art Center, Minocqua
The Warehouse Art Center · Eagle River
About this event
Open Mic Lab is designed as an evening of artistic sharing. It is so much more than just music; it is dedicated to the experimental performance of all things creative including, but not limited to: comedy, film, music, poetry, storytelling, and theater. It’s a great place to try out a new song or any creative pursuits that need an audience. Performing is not mandatory, just audience members are welcomed. To reserve a performance spot, please register on the Warehouse website. Open Mic Lab is the first Friday of the month at the Warehouse Community Arts Center No tickets or reservations needed to attend or preform at this family friendly FREE event. Stop in and enjoy live, authentic performances in a friendly atmosphere while you wet your whistle!
Who's playing
Jimmy Meiers hosts the evening, and the lineup is made up of local performers who reserve a spot in advance. Acts can bring music, written words or anything else they are working on. Audience members are just as welcome, so bring a friend who wants to watch.
What to expect
Each performer gets a short slot, around ten minutes with transition time, and the number of acts is capped, so the bill moves briskly. The Warehouse supplies a basic PA system with a mixer and two microphones. The Inspiration Bar stays open for drinks, and the evening is family-friendly, so material should suit a mixed crowd.
Why go
This open mic takes in comedy, film, poetry, storytelling and theater, not just music. The Warehouse is a working arts center with ceramics, painting and stained glass classes, and a gallery of local artists under the same roof. Trying out something unfinished in front of a friendly room is the point.
