About this event
The Monday Writing Group meets every 1st and 3rd Monday in the Eagle Room of the Library, and new members are always welcome to drop in! Our purpose is simply to get together and write. Our friendly, informal group takes turns bringing prompts, then we write for 30 minutes. Afterwards, we share and discuss what we’ve written. For more information, email Nancy. Any person needing an accommodation for a disability in order to access Library activities and/or service should contact the Library in person, by phone at
715-479-8070, or by email at director@olsonlibrary.org.
What to expect
Each session starts with a prompt from one of the members, and everyone writes for 30 minutes. Afterward the group reads and discusses what it wrote, so the talk is as much a part of the meeting as the writing. The Eagle Room is a small conference room with a table, which keeps the group close and the conversation easy.
Why go
New people are always welcome to drop in, so there is no need to arrive with a project. For anyone who likes to write but rarely sits down to do it, a set 30 minutes and a fresh prompt is a useful push. The group also gives writers in the area a regular place to share their work.
