Mahjong at the Library
Tuesday, November 10 at Plum Lake Public Library, Minocqua
About this event
Mahjong at the Library brings the tile game to Plum Lake Public Library in Sayner, in the Minocqua area. The description calls it a journey into mahjong, a game of skill, strategy and luck, and says everyone is welcome. Complete beginners and players who want to sharpen their game are both invited.
What to expect
The session is open to mixed experience levels, so newcomers sit alongside players who already know the tiles. Mahjong blends skill, strategy and luck, and the description suggests the pace suits people learning as they go. The room is a library, so expect a quiet, social hour rather than a tournament.
Why go
A library session is a low-pressure way to try mahjong before committing to a regular group. Plum Lake Public Library dates to 1939 and is part of the Northern Waters library network, so it is a familiar local stop. The event is a good fit for anyone curious about the game who has wanted a first taste close to home.
