Journey to Freedom Banquet
Tuesday, November 10 at Faith Church, Minocqua
About this event
The Journey to Freedom Banquet is a fundraising dinner for Yahweh Warrior Lodge, a Christ-centered residential recovery ministry for men in the Northwoods. The meal is locally sourced and prepared by Rustic Roots, and the evening is set aside to learn how people can help with addiction recovery in the area. It takes place at Faith Church in Woodruff, just down the road from Minocqua.
What to expect
This is a dinner with a purpose rather than a party or a show. The meal and the learning happen in the same evening, and the talk centers on the lodge's work. Yahweh Warrior Lodge grows much of its own food on a 16-acre wooded property, so a locally sourced dinner fits the mission.
Why go
The fundraiser supports the lodge's effort to run a long-term recovery program for men in the Northwoods. That program runs 12 to 18 months, much longer than a typical short rehab stay. For anyone in the Minocqua area who wants to understand what that support looks like on the ground, this is a direct way to find out.
