Ikwewag Circle
Tuesday, November 3 at Lac du Flambeau Library, Minocqua
About this event
Ikwewag Circle is a monthly women's support group and sewing and craft circle at the Lac du Flambeau Public Library. Members bring a project to work on and share a meal together. It is a relaxed evening for women in the Lac du Flambeau area, a short drive from Minocqua.
What to expect
Sewing and crafting are the core of each gathering, and the circle keeps a limited stock of supplies on hand. The group is led by six facilitators: Amanda McCoy, Winona Carufel, Marcy Beson, Tricia White, Justina Bearhill and Anna Sherwood. The meal is part of the evening, so plan on staying a while.
Why go
The circle is as much a support group as a craft night, and it is meant to feel safe and easy. For women who want steady company over a project, it offers a regular place to sit down with others. The library serves residents of the Lac du Flambeau area and the wider Vilas County communities, so the circle is part of the library's everyday community work.
