About this event
From Tin Pan Alley to rock 'n' roll to country, The Northwoods Ukers is a group of fun-loving people who love to sing and play the ukulele. New people and those needing to learn are always welcome to join in the merriment on Friday afternoons at the Warehouse! Practice is held in the Winter Studio at the Warehouse.
Who's playing
The Northwoods Ukers are a loose circle of local players who love to sing and strum the ukulele. The group is one of the music groups run through The Warehouse's public art program, which is built around community making. Their repertoire spans old Tin Pan Alley standards, rock 'n' roll and country.
What to expect
A relaxed group practice where singing and strumming together is the main activity. The Winter Studio is a room at the Warehouse set up for practice, with chairs and music stands provided. Newcomers and those still learning are welcome to join the group as they are.
Why go
If you have always wanted to pick up a ukulele, this is an easy place to start among people who are happy to teach and sing along. The mix of older songs and newer favorites gives a wide range to sing through. The Warehouse on South Railroad Street is also a good place to get to know the arts scene in Eagle River.
