Kalmar Community Center: Sheepshead / Mahjongg
Thursday, November 12 at Kalmar Community Center, Minocqua
About this event
Join us for an afternoon of fun. Players form teams to play games of Sheepshead / Mahjongg. The number of games is determined by the amount of players. Beginners and advanced players are welcome. Come as a single or a couple. This is open to the public.
What to expect
Players form teams and play as many games as the group size allows. Sheepshead is a trick-taking card game with deep roots in Wisconsin, and mahjongg is played with tiles. The mood is relaxed and social, with beginners playing alongside more experienced players.
Why go
The session is open to the public, so you do not need a group of friends to take part. Kalmar opened in 1986 to serve seniors in the Eagle River area, and the center is run by volunteers. Its card and game afternoons, including cribbage and Scrabble, are part of its regular rhythm. For a sociable afternoon of cards in the Northwoods, this one is easy to recommend.
