About this event
Holiday Reading with Pamela Fullerton is a read-aloud of her holiday short stories, given by the author herself. It takes place in the meeting room at the Rhinelander District Library, a short drive from Minocqua. Fullerton is a prize-winning Wisconsin writer who lives on a farm near Wausau.
Who's playing
Pamela J.A. Fullerton was born and raised in Wisconsin, one of 16 siblings. She started college at fifteen and went on to earn BS and law degrees. Her first literary competition brought her 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in the Jade Ring Contest. WWA Press published her anthology RED ROAD REDEMPTION and has MILKING FOR BARN CATS coming soon, and she co-produced the prize-winning documentary Honor in the Air.
What to expect
Fullerton reads some of her holiday short stories aloud, so the time is spent listening to the author rather than in discussion. The room is a library meeting room in Rhinelander, which suits a listening audience. Her writing is about the things that give people the privilege of dreams, laughter or tears, and that is the tone she brings to the reading.
Why go
Holiday stories read by the person who wrote them land differently than a book on a shelf. Fullerton lives on a farm near Wausau with her horses and dogs, and that rural Wisconsin setting shows up in her work. For a Minocqua reader who wants a quiet bit of time with a local writer, this is a good pick.
