About this event

Thursday • 10 AM–12 PM • $225 • 8 WEEKS DRAWING & PAINTING • BEGINNERS & THOSE WHO WANT TO TAKE IT SLOW Start with the basics - materials, techniques & common beginner mistakes. Learn to care less, see more, relax & play! Practice with pencil, colored pencil, watercolor & mixed media.
Who's playing
Peggy Grinvalsky leads the Campanile's fall art classes. She is a studio artist, muralist and book illustrator known for a relaxed teaching style. Her approach helps students draw what they see and build a lively sense of color.
What to expect
Lessons open with the basics: materials, techniques and the mistakes most beginners make. The class then moves through pencil, colored pencil, watercolor and mixed media, with an emphasis on looking closely and loosening up. Materials are provided, so the time goes into the work at the table.
Why go
The Campanile is the arts center in downtown Minocqua, and it offers theater, music and art instruction alongside touring performers. A class here means working with a practicing artist in a building that also hosts larger shows. For someone who has always meant to draw or paint, an eight-week run is a gentle place to start.
