Who's playing
Studio artist, muralist and book illustrator Peggy Grinvalsky leads the Campanile's visual arts classes. She is known for a relaxed teaching style. Her approach centers on drawing what is actually in front of you, building a lively sense of color, and working with bold, loose marks.
What to expect
Expect class instruction with personalized guidance woven in, so feedback comes on your own work as well as the lesson. You choose the medium and the direction, and the materials are supplied. The pace is built around making, with the eight weeks giving each project room to develop.
Why go
Eight weeks is long enough to move past a first attempt at a medium and see real change in your work. The Campanile is a central arts hub for the Northwoods, housed in a former church on Milwaukee Street. It is a good place to build a steady creative habit.
