Book Babies | Baby Lapsit StoryTime
Monday, November 9 at Minocqua Public Library, Minocqua
About this event
Join us in the library’s program room for something NEW Mondays at 10am starting in September! Our Lapsit Storytime is short, sweet, and full of fun! Here’s a glimpse of what you can expect when you join us. When you arrive in the program room, you’ll choose a special animal carpet mat for your little one to sit or lie on, then find a cozy spot on the floor. We’ll begin with songs, rhymes, and fingerplays or movement activities to enjoy together. Next, we’ll share a few favorite board books, and you’ll have the opportunity to browse and check out additional board books to take home. We’ll wrap up with more songs and rhymes before ending our time together with free play and a chance to connect with other families, either in the program room or the children’s area. We look forward to sharing stories, songs, and smiles with you!
What to expect
You choose an animal carpet mat for your little one, then settle onto the floor together. The session opens with songs, rhymes, and fingerplays or simple movement. A few favorite board books come next, and you can browse and take home more from the shelves. It closes with more songs, then open play and time to meet other families in the program room or the children's area.
Why go
The program is made for the youngest listeners, with short songs and sturdy board books rather than long stories. It gives families with babies a regular reason to get out and meet other parents. The library's program room is its larger meeting space, set up for groups, and the children's area is close by for the play that follows.
