About this event
Join the Rhinelander District Library in welcoming researcher, author, and lecturer Chad Lewi for a presentation on Supernatural Lake Superior in the library meeting room. Chad Lewis has a master's in psychology and has spent nearly 30 years traveling the globe in search of unique and bizarre stories and history. Listen as he tells the stories, from ghost ships, mermaid, and UFO's to sea serpents, cursed locations, and wandering ghosts from around Lake Superior.
Who's playing
Chad Lewis is a researcher, author and lecturer based in Eau Claire. He holds a master's in psychology and has spent nearly 30 years traveling in search of unusual stories and local history. His book Supernatural Lake Superior gathers tales from around the lake, including a reported sea serpent sighting at Two Harbors and the ghosts of an old inn in Bayfield.
What to expect
This is a spoken presentation, with Lewis telling the stories himself. He has said he is as interested in why people believe what they see as in the sightings, so expect some skepticism alongside the legends. The subjects range from ghost ships, mermaids and UFOs to sea serpents, cursed locations and wandering ghosts.
Why go
The stories come from around the whole lake, and Lewis's Wisconsin material reaches Bayfield and Superior. If you have spent time on Lake Superior and wondered about its reputation, this is a close-to-home way to hear the legends from someone who has chased them for decades.
