Season Kick-Off Trail Clean Up Day
Tuesday, November 10 at Minocqua Winter Park, Minocqua
About this event
LNST members, families and friends help prepare Minocqua Winter Park and LNST trails for the season, with age-appropriate work for everyone.
What to expect
The work is the practical kind that keeps a winter park running: trimming trails and clearing the skating pond before the first snow. Tasks are matched to each helper's age, so children and adults can work side by side. Hand tools and sturdy gloves are the usual gear, and the mood is more neighborly than formal.
Why go
Minocqua Winter Park covers about 6,500 acres, with 86 kilometers of groomed ski trails and 15 miles of snowshoe trails. The park holds the largest land-trust conservation easement in Wisconsin, and its trails are cleared every year for public use. Pitching in is a direct way to help keep them open.
